Didn’t you know? Us Canadians are good at a few things: politeness, droll comedy (cf. Kids in the Hall, SCTV, Trailer Park Boys, etc.), and amazing pop bands.
More Canadian goodies:
* The New Pornographers
* The Rheostatics
* Great Lake Swimmers
* Controller.Controller
* Malajupe
* Final Fantasy
* Jason Collett
* The Dears
* Novillero
* Frog Eyes
* The Constantines
* Metric
* Stars
* Feist
And of course Wolf Parade and Arcade Fire. There’s tons of great music up here!

Actually, I’ve heard of (and own) a bunch of albums from many of those bands, but I’d somehow completely missed Sloan, and they’re pretty damn great… and, hey, while you’re on Feist you forgot
* Broken Social Scene
* Kings of Convenience
and that whole wacky Toronto crowd that floats from group to group… (Feist seems to be coming out with a new album this year, too, which is cool—I’ve played the hell out of Let It Die.)

It really helps to be from Halifax (even though the boys have relocated to Toronto).
The band’s last couple albums have been more miss than hit, but Never Hear The End of It is a return to form. Twice Removed, One Chord to Another, Navy Blues and Between the Bridges are all must spins.

I’ve ordered each, Iain!
(Oh, and coincidentally, the NYT has an article about Feist today, and the new album comes out May 1st here—so this is all quite timely!)
