Boot from image
Hi
I created an image of my MBP-HD using default options. My SuperDuper.sparseimage doesn't appear when I press Alt on Startup. It lies on a External USB2 Drive, among other Files, in the root directory. Is there anything I need to do first? Thanks a lot for help! m. |

Sparse images are not directly bootable, so that makes sense. See the User's Guide...

Hmm, it said "make image bootable" in the process of backing up though. can you give me a hint?

Yes, the files are configured for startup. But you can't start up from it because it's not a real drive.

Hmm, that means, I need to dedicate a drive to super duper so I can boot from it? Or should I have chosen sparsebundle and all would be fine?

No, you can partition the drive into a backup volume and then one (or more) for other uses.
