I/O error

I'm getting the following error (username x'd out)when attempting to clone my drive on my iBook G4:

I've successfully cloned this drive before several times. Any advice?

Try duplicating the file in the Finder. If successful, delete the original and rename the duplicate to the original name. Empty the trash, and give it another shot.

I couldn't duplicate the file. It was apparently too corrupted for even the finder to work with. Once deleted, the clone worked.
