tips for wireless back up?
I have 2 computers and 2 hard drives. My imac in the office backs w/ SD to it's own hard drive, and that is working wonderfully.
But, I have a macbook that lives in my living room all the time, and I keep my back up hard drives plugged in in the office. Is there a way for me to have the macbook's backup hard drive plugged into my imac, so that I can set SD to back up wirelessly during the night? My wireless router is an airport express. The potential issues I'm concerned about are (1) that my macbook is not always "connected" to the imac as a shared drive (so the macbook's back up hard drive isn't always mounted). Will SD make this connection automatically before backing up, if it needs to? (2) Speed of backing up. How is that over a wireless connection? Is my initial back up going to take forever? |
