Copy failed. File SuperDuper!.app wasn't found.
Growl announced this morning that the scheduled nightly clone of my boot drive had failed:
SuperDuper! Copy FailedWhen I saw this message, I launched SuperDuper! from an alias with no problem. The Log shows the successful clone early yesterday morning with nothing about this morning. The only unusual aspect of my 10.6.8 system is I did a Safe Boot yesterday evening. Is there anything I should do other than wait to see if tomorrow morning's scheduled run is successful? -- Ward |

Use Onyx or Cocktail to rebuild your "Launch Services" database.

SuperDuper! ran fine this morning.
I suspect this was due to swapping my daily backup drives yesterday afternoon, which meant deleting my "Hobbes B" schedule and recreating my "Hobbes A" daily backup schedule. (I store the inactive drive in my safe deposit box.) This forum didn't send an email notice of Dave's prompt suggestion. So I didn't get a chance to verify that tweaking Launch Services would have fixed the problem. -- Ward |
