It's urgent now...
Hi Dave,
This is my first post here since Leopard was launched. I understand that you have to release a safe version for 10.5, and I was (am still) waiting for it. This morning I got a problem with my PowerMac (lots of KPs and it has been hard to be able to restart the machine). In case of a serious problem I do no longer have a bootable backup... even if I use Time Machine as an interim solution (btw I suspect that TM might be responsible for those KPs -not sure, still investigating-). In your last update in your blog (Nov.16), you mentionned that the delay would be weeks, not days. I just want to emphasize that "weeks" are really too much now... Michel |

That doesn't sound like a Time Machine issue to me, Michel -- it sounds more like a drive failure (though I have virtually nothing to work with other than 'hard to restart the Mac' which can mean a lot of things).
Anyway, we're working as fast as we can. It's been a total of four weeks since Leopard's release, and we've made a lot of good progress.

Michel, you can use Disk Utility to create a bootable clone of your startup disk.

But it's a long long long process compared to a Smart Update, and cannot be done every day. |
